* Cluj Innovation Days 2025 * Highlights MedTech Innovation in a Regional Context. **Cluj-Napoca, under the umbrella of the I3HIES project*
Organised by Cluj IT Cluster on May 29–30 at Babeș-Bolyai University, the main partner of the event, Cluj Innovation Days 2025 brought together over 250 participants and speakers from 11 countries to explore the future of healthcare technology. Framed by the European I3HIES project, this year’s edition was dedicated entirely to MedTech.
Set against the backdrop of rapidly advancing technologies and the growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, the event provided an interdisciplinary platform for dialogue among researchers, entrepreneurs, academics, students, and policymakers. Discussions went beyond technical solutions, addressing ethical and societal implications and highlighting the importance of responsible innovation.
Programme Highlights
The 2025 edition of Cluj Innovation Days featured a comprehensive programme focused on the future of healthcare technology. Central themes included the integration of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, digital transformation of healthcare systems, and the ethical and societal implications of emerging technologies.
Eight thematic panels and a dedicated workshop brought together diverse perspectives, including those of public institutions and standardization bodies, to examine challenges and opportunities in MedTech development and adoption.

Outcomes
Cluj Innovation Days 2025 created strong opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. Participants represented a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including startups, SMEs, corporations, universities, research institutes, public agencies, and investors.
Matchmaking Session:
A B2B matchmaking event, brought together over 100 participants from the MedTech sector to explore potential partnerships.
Scientific Poster Exhibition:
The event also featured a scientific poster exhibition with 22 posters authored by more than 80 researchers. Most of the contributors were early-career scientists who presented their work and engaged directly with professionals from academia and industry.
Technology Demonstrations:
In the exhibition area, companies such as Accenture, ArtSoft, CertSIGN, Gits, and Hypermedia showcased practical applications of technology in healthcare. Solutions included cybersecurity tools, intelligent interfaces, and telemedicine platforms.
Supporting the I3HIES Project Objectives
CID 2025 made a significant contribution to the goals of the I3HIES project by:
- Promoting interregional collaboration and knowledge exchange
- Presenting digital innovations in the healthcare sector
- Facilitating cross-sector dialogue and future cooperation
The event aligned closely with the project’s priority areas, including medical devices, emergency equipment, and compliance with European regulations.
